The NHS Long Term Plan for Mental Health marks the biggest transformation of mental health care across the NHS in a generation. NHS England’s mental health infrastructure team is responsible for designing the infrastructure to support and drive this change.A key part mental health clinical policy and strategy team, within NHS England’s Deputy CEO’s Office Directorate, the Infrastructure team works across the mental health programme, from children and young people throughout the life course to older age mental health and dementia.

Routine outcome monitoring is an important part of clinical care and helps us to monitor and improve effectiveness, efficiency and quality of the service offered to its service users, thereby hold us accountable to deliver our Long Term Plan (LTP) commitments. As well as ensuring services are meeting the needs of their service users, clinical outcomes (questionnaires) are also important for understanding what works and to measure progress of deliverables underpinning the LTP for mental health.

As a Senior Project Manager, the post holder will work as part of a dynamic team in delivering an effective programme supporting managers and staff across the mental health policy team to lead specific projects within the mental health Outcomes programme.

To deliver against our objectives we rely on close relationships across NHS England, and with external stakeholders including the Department of Health and Social Care, NHS Digital, Public Health England, NHS Improvement, the Care Quality Commission and commissioners and providers across the country.
