We are looking to recruit a Children’s Well Being Practitioners (CWPs) to further develop the National Pilot programme in Croydon and Lewisham CAMHS. This post offers candidates an opportunity to develop clinical skills relevant to work in child and adolescent mental health services.
They are training posts designed to equip the post holder to offer high-quality; brief outcome focused evidence-based Guided Self-Help interventions for children and young people experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties. The post is part of a broader government initiative to increase mental health and emotional well-being services for children and young people, and is set up as part of the Children and Young People’s Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) programme.
The post holder will attend university based taught tuition and undertake self-study days as specified within the agreed national curriculum, working in the service for the remaining time using newly developed skills. The post holder will also receive supervision from an experience trained Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) clinician who will support their professional development.
